Sweet Dreams of Velvet (Narration)

As 'Luci' stirs the mind in his own way, the true countdown begins to have a much greater sense of urgency. Bits of pieces of your mind have begun to unravel, and it seems like something within you is waiting for some sort of conclusion to all of this. A release. Headaches have become almost alarmingly frequent. You try not let on that there's anything wrong to those around you, not just so that they don't worry, but because something tells you that you need to keep what is happening to you as secret as possible.

As Sunday ends, your dreams are interrupted by a flash of blue.

You are in a large, empty room. There are others standing around you and three figures are in front of you, so far ahead you can't seem to reach them even if you try.

The lighting makes it such that you can't make them out, but the silhouettes seem to indicate that the two standing up are a man and a woman with a third person sitting at a desk. They speak amongst themselves.

"Ahh...it seems we have many guests. Are you two up to the task?" The voice comes from the man sitting at the desk, and he chuckles slightly. It's slightly raspy, yet oddly calming. You can almost feel a sort of kindness emanating from it.

"We are ready to be of assistance, Master Igor." The woman speaks in a calm, neutral tone. There is no hesitation in her voice.

"Good. This place exists between dream and reality, mind and matter. It is a room that only those who are bound by a 'Contract' may enter..."

"We will be aiding you in the near future..." the female voice continues, "...and to aid us in this task, you have been given a name tag. Please make sure it is written correctly."

You find yourself holding a pen, the end looking like a pair of butterfly wings. Before you can think about it too much, you write down the name that has followed you in the chatroom. You look around, the others with you doing the same. Faces you may recognize...some that you do not. Once you are done, the pen disappears in a shower of blue sparkles.

"Now," the man at the desk speaks again. "Let us look into your futures."

He moves his hands, and orange cards appear on the table.

"A new deck of cards?!...this is most interesting." The voice is from the man, surprised. "Normally a reading is done with the same deck, but with even this being different..."

"Still..." the man at the desk says, chuckling softly. "...this does seems fitting for them does it not?"

The cards are mixed together before one of them turns over by itself.

"Hmmm, The Omen in the upright position. It tells of an upcoming event which will change all of your destinies...it seems that your lives will all be shattered soon. The future card is..."

Another one turns.

"The Traitor. Most interesting indeed. You will all turn your back on something much greater. Will it represent a true change? Only time will tell."

"It seems that a fate will given to you. Once you Awaken, we will meet once more. If you fail at your task, a much darker, unavoidable destiny will befall the city in which you currently live. Your own lives may be lost. Our duty is to ensure this will not happen. To this end, my two assistants will aid you."

"I am Mary. I will provide aid for you in your employment."

"And I am William, Mary's brother. We shall await your return, and make the necessary preparations towards your new career."

"Until then..." the figure at the desks moves a little closer and you can see his full face. "Farewell..."

When you awaken, it is Monday morning. You feel much more refreshed than the previous days and notice that you don't have a headache at all.
