After a month of carefully preparing everything, the cafe is finally having its grand opening! And since it's a Saturday, that means it's fully staffed and hopping.

Whatever the weather might be like outside, it's perfectly arm and toasty inside of the cafe itself... Although some people on the outside dining areas might like that chill. Or perhaps they're simply looking for a table that's not filled to the brim. Either way, it does't matter. After all, the menu has been updated for the winter season!

There are all sorts of things available for customers: peppermint hot chocolate, elderberry-ginger tea, and turmeric-black tea brew, among other things. Of course, there's also the old favorites that are being brought from the demo cafe that happened during the Flower Festival, so don't worry! You're still free to buy that lavender cake you like so much.

Of course, for the people working during all this, it might not be as easy but hey....

So someone who actually knows what he's doing instead of.... other people. Like Makoto. Chikusa tosses an egg shell away and nods to one mixing bowl that's been placed to the side. "Can you stir that? I'm making another cake..." The slices might go individually, after all, but that's still a lot of slices being sent out to plates.

In the meantime, that means he can focus on other orders that come in which can't be made for multiple people with one recipe. At least, that's what he hopes he'll be able to do.

He nods. That's easy enough and with the way the bowl was sitting there, a pretty obvious example of Chikusa not having enough hands. He doesn't bother saying anything else, just steps in and starts stirring.

For the most part, Chikusa is content to work in quiet. The clink of wood against ceramic, the humming of the ovens, the hum of people outside of the kitchen chatting- that's enough noise to fill up a room. Just being in the presence of someone else works fine by him. It clearly works for Gladion, too. Chikusa would never say he works as well with anyone else as he does Mukuro, or Ken.... but Gladion is easy enough.

It's after maybe a half hour of this that Chikusa finally speaks up while fetching more floral syrup from their stocks. "So this is fine with you?"

Gladion really just isn't used to working with anyone. Not people, anyway. It's not as odd as it could be, with all of Asher's memories of doing things with his family and admittedly not so many friends. Still, especially after having thoroughly given up on a more social sort of working at the cafe, he's perfectly fine with working in silence, save for the occasional words to mark what he should be doing next.

He glances over at Chikusa when he asks the question, not immediately sure what 'this' he's even asking about. "What do you mean?"

"Working back here." His gaze flicks up briefly to the door leading to the rest of the café. "I thought you were working as a server..."

Although he can't say that he's surprised that Gladion has retreated elsewhere. Without their memories of this false place, it at least seems like the two of them share the same lack of interest for being smothered in attention. At least, as far as Chikusa can tell himself. He's never certain of his ability to read people... even those he's supposed to be close with.

"I switched with someone else who wasn't likely to start punching the customers." He replies flatly. He really should have known better than to even try, honestly. Even his fake self probably would have been a little awkward with it. As for his real self, dealing with people that much didn't take long to start grating on his nerves.

"Ha." It's barely a laugh, just a faint syllable under Chikusa's breath. It's close to the reason he's back here instead, sure enough. Then again, it's more likely that he would have just chased customers away with his general demeanor instead of a fight.

"You should have just been in here from the start."
