don't look just keep your eyes peeled

Who: Heiji Hattori, Kidou Yuuto, Shirou Fubuki
When: Backdated to July 9th
Where: Green Valley Area
What: Two navigators and a combatant walk onto a crime scene...

[After learning about what had really transpired there, Fubuki had his doubts about asking Kidou to come with him back to that house. Snooping around had been eerie enough when he'd thought a simple fire had been the cause of the destruction and loss of life there, but that the true culprits were the shadows and masked firemen who had arrived on scene to cover up the family's murder did not sit nearly so well with him. This wasn't natural. And, as the older brother, even if they'd never really been related back home, protecting Kidou was his responsibility. What's more, Kidou was also a navigator, and as a combatant, bringing him back here was in direct opposition of keeping him safe.

And yet...

Between Heiji, Kidou, and him, Kidou was undoubtedly the one who knew the most. And, with him and Heiji both on the scene, the likelihood that they would uncover something of use would be dramatically increased. All Fubuki had to do was anything they thought might help. That and...keep them safe. Somehow.

Waiting outside for Heiji to arrive, Fubuki stood close to Kidou and surveyed the property. Not much had changed since the last time they were here, but there was no more police tape hanging across the entryway. Had they moved on to internal renovations and repairs already?]

Hmm... It doesn't look like a crime scene anymore.

[On one hand, that meant sneaking inside wouldn't warrant as much suspicion from anyone who saw them. On the other...it was possible that anything they might have been looking for would no longer be there now.]

[ Heiji hadn't thought to investigate the scene the first time while under the belief of being Harley Hartwell for various reasons. Most of his assertiveness hadn't come until he awakened to his true self, the detective who sought the truth that was reaped in lies and deceit. Not much time had passed, but to this day Heiji continually beat himself over being so blind to miss things as obvious as various fires caused around Eddan.

When Heiji met up with the user, Fubuki, he was only expecting him. To his surprise, there was a second person beside him. The detective remembered Kidou vividly from the night of the awakening when they encountered the first time and the telepathic messages before that. He was also one of the few people who didn't consider murder a reasonable option. Heiji didn't know him personally, but was more than familiar with him despite this fact.
]

Is he joinin' us?

[ Not that Heiji was against the idea.

The detective's glance strayed from the younger boys toward the house, and the general lack of physical evidence on display. He waited too long to act, and now the probability of finding clues was low. His brows furrowed at the revelation.
]

We better not wait any longer.

[ Still, Heiji was determined to find something. There was no such a thing as perfect crime, there had to have been something that was still around that could give them a lead.

Heiji slipped his hands into his pockets and made his way onto the front porch.
