It feels strange, almost, being a family of four instead of two. Or three, in the midst of the crowd. Ren had spent most of the day with them, though had wandered off occasionally. He had spent the last hour elsewhere, only rejoining the family once the fireworks had all ready started—though they hadn’t been going for long—an ache growing behind his eyes, though he hides the pain better than his sibling, pushing it away.
