[Vincent's eyes weren't the only things burning up. Kit felt as if he'd swallowed dragon's breath, his stomach in a fiery knot that was twisting, churning, and threatening to consume him from the inside out. What was more real?
His rage or his desire? The humiliation he felt or the unexpected hand that had been extended?
He didn't know and, for a brief moment, he didn't care. His mouth slammed back against Vincent's, as punishing as it was rising to the challenge. Did that mean this meant something or did it mean it meant nothing at all? That question danced dizzyingly in his mind as his fingers curled into the front of the jacket the other boy wore. It lingered as he shoved him back against the living room door frame, too. Continuing to taunt him as their mouths met again, it seemed as determined as he was to kill whatever distance there was between them along with any room for regret.
And the latter did try to spring up. Kissing was...expressly off limits. Too honest and too intimate. Even for someone as skilled as Kit at shutting off his emotions, it was beyond difficult to hide what he really felt in a kiss. And Vincent had stolen that from him. Could see him now for what he really was and all that was inside. Or perhaps he'd known it all along...
