Presumably, this was Kit's foster father, someone whose taste in clothing was as dated as Kit's tended to be, but nowhere near as obnoxiously bright or hard to look at. In fact, the colors he seemed to prefer were drab in comparison, lending to the overall bookish sort of appearance he seemed to possess.
"Oh, Kit...your mother, she's..." He looked worryingly at Vincent and then back to his adopted son, hands wringing before him nervously. Seeming to sense the man's discomfort, Kit placed a hand on Vincent's shoulder and smiled.]
With how unsafe Eddan is after dark, I asked my friend from school to accompany me here.

And that was that. He left quickly then, short legs still managing to carry him with an incredible swiftness back to his wife while Kit's hand slid from Vincent's shoulder and he proceeded toward the reception desk.]
