There's really nothing that can make this situation less awkward- or at least none that Chikusa has thought of. So he's mostly surrendered himself to the silence that drags on between the two of them, fingers loosely linked together. Out of all the questions he could have expected.... The one that finally comes has him pause, blinking slowly.
