That's where Kidou pauses before answering. His expression almost doesn't change, though one eyebrow twitches slightly, easily missed if Fubuki isn't watching for it. His stance doesn't shift. He just sits there and looks thoughtful.

Sakuma's the easier one - he's fairly sure he's alright. They've all three been working on a project together, and Sakuma's been consistently fine. Before that fight, Kidou would have said that they're all doing alright, but after?

Genda's thoughts betrayed him there. That he still saw himself as a pawn, someone who could feasibly be thrown away if it suited Kidou. And he acted on it! He was really willing to sacrifice himself! It's left Kidou wondering, more than a little, just how well he really knows them even now. What can he do? How does he fix this?

Fubuki's still waiting on an answer to that, and it doesn't escape Kidou's notice that it's just before the question about if people would switch sides.

"As well as can be expected." Which is a completely meaningless statement, given who he's referring to. "We've kept busy compiling notes on everything we can."
