There's no possible way that he's fine. Of that, Kidou's certain. But pressing the issue doesn't seem to be a good plan...
Automatically, his eyes stray to where Kouyuki usually kept his sunglasses, only realizing he half expected they might not be there after he's relieved - and more than a little touched - to see that they are. With a small smile, he allows the topic change. Maybe he really can afford to not press that at all right now.
"I was thrown out somewhere else."
Maybe if this was back then, when the battle raged chaotically in the darkness all around him, and it was all he could do to sort out what thoughts others heard and what didn't, Fubuki might have gleaned a little more of the story. That he'd fallen for a while before hitting the ground, and right into a few rats. That if it hadn't been for the timely intervention of allies ... this might be a very different story now.
Something Kidou tries to not dwell on, and something he'll refuse to allow Fubuki to think about. Some things can afford to lose detail.
"I contacted you as soon as I could afford the distraction. ...Sorry to worry you."
And that's it. The whole story, according to Kidou. Not too exciting, was it?
