On the other side of the door, Fubuki mirror's Kidou's gesture by taking a deep breath and slowly exhaling a moment later. He can do this. And even if he begins to doubt himself, it's too late to back out now. Only able to forge ahead, he opens the door to the other boy's bedroom and lets himself inside.

Not much has changed. Things still look as they did before the other day, during the week leading up to the battle at the school when he'd spent so many hours here thinking Michi was the one who needed protecting. He'd been naive.

He stalls a moment longer, taking the time to close the door behind him, and by then he's thought of a reasonable ice breaker. Turning to regard the other boy with an easy smile, he asks him, "You were exhausted the first time too, weren't you?"

He hadn't known what was going on at the time, but he remembers the way Michi had seemed to change around the time of that fire, and how he hadn't seemed to possess the same energy as usual. Awakening, it seems, takes a lot out of a person. And Kidou had gone through it...not alone, not exactly. But he was the type to take a great deal on by himself just the same. Fubuki remembers that. Kidou's sense of responsibility and duty were second to none. He probably did all he could to keep from giving Genda or Sakuma a reason to worry.
